Sourcing notes & unresolved questions
- A April 1946 Yachting item describes a 'Baby Clipper Class, designed and built by Stephens Brothers… a plywood sloop, a little over 20 ft in length'. Whether that is an early prototype of the Junior Clipper under a working name, or a genuinely separate smaller class, is unresolved — the lengths differ by six feet.
- No designer of record was found. Stephens Brothers is credited as builder; whether the design came from within the yard is not established.
