Hank Easom

Opened his yard the day after leaving the Coast Guard and ran it for thirty-five years on the old Marinship waterfront. He raced the 1937 Eight-Metre Yucca for fifty-three years, and won his last race ten days before he died.

Founded Easom Boat Works on 12 March 1955, the day after his Coast Guard discharge, on the former Marinship waterfront at Sausalito; ran it thirty-five years, closing in 1989

Owned and raced the 1937 8-Metre Yucca from 1964 to 2017 — fifty-three years

Memorial

The Hank Easom Buoy was placed near Yellow Bluff by the Army Corps of Engineers in February 2023
