International Knarr

Drawn in occupied Norway as a handsomer answer to the Folkboat, and brought to San Francisco in 1953 by a Stanford student whose father had built the prototype.

Bay arrival

Bjørn Iversen, son of the prototype's builder and a Stanford student, brought one to San Francisco in 1953; most Bay hulls arrived in the early 1960s, shipped in containers

Organised in the late 1960s under Knud Wibroe, who ran the first International Knarr Championship in San Francisco
