Danish sail-area-rule double-enders, deliberately restricted to Scandinavian timber so that ordinary people could afford to race — a rare case of a rating rule written for social reasons.

Standardisation

Late 1920s, via a Jylland sailing-union competition — Utzon won the 45 m² class, Berg the 30 m²
